Action items at the top

- What you'll learn? Why it's so important to put the action items, not the context at the top of your email. Don’t bury the request: Make sure it’s at the top of your email (and not buried in a conclusion down the bottom).
- Why it matters? Length and complexity prevent the recipient from FINDING and/or UNDERSTANDING your to-dos... Overcome this challenge by getting your to-dos to the top of your email.

Make it practical - Questions and exercises you can try with your team:
- Take a highlighter and sit down with your most recently sent 5 emails. Find the requests in these emails and highlight them:
- Were they all in positions that were impossible to miss?
- Would any of them appeared below the fold on mobile?
- Are they the first piece that a scanning reader would see?
- In these same emails, were you always clear on:
- What the action was?
- Whether you wanted a reponse?
- Your deadlines?
